The Chupacabra

The Legend of the Chupacabra has been around since the early 1990’s, and I first heard the story when I joined a co-ed softball team, and our name was the Chupacabras…..lol. The first reported sightings of the Chupacabra were in 1990, and were reported in Puerto Rico.  The legend now extends through most of Mexico, Central America, Chile and Brazil.  There have even been reported sightings in the United States as far north as Maine, most recently in Texas, and just a few hours ago another reported possible sighting on a golf course in Texas.

The Chupacabra, or “Goatsucker” leaves its victims of goats, cows, sheep, geese, and duck with puncture wounds from its large teeth.  Some of the punctures wounds found have penetrated the skull of its victims, and the brain is eaten.  Most reports from authorities state that the animals must have been killed by a large cat like a puma, or a pack of wild dogs.  Some reports from eye witnesses of the sightings, state that the creature can walk upright, and has reptilian-like legs, and it has claws on its hands and feet.  They say its teeth are vampire-like fangs.

No one really knows for sure, but there have been some recent sightings of creatures that might make anyone think they have just seen a Chupacabra.  There was a body of an animal that was hit by a vehicle in Cuero, Texas, which was determined to have both Mexican wolf, and coyote chromosomes, and appears to look more like a dog to me.  Then thee is the most recent finding in Texas, found by Rocky Benson.  Says he was sweeping up golf balls when he saw a dead animal on the ground.  When he got out to look at it he was shocked that he had never seen anything like it.  He said it had paws of a raccoon, tail of a opossum, odd limbs, and large canines teeth. 

I am not sure that these findings are the Chupracabra, but they may explain all of the dead farm animals.  Here is the link to the video, you can decide for yourself.  This animal does not appear to be a dog like the first one, but you decide.
