In Theaters Tomorrow – “Daybreakers”

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for since I saw the movie trailer for “Daybreakers.” I am so excited about this movie, and for my birthday, on Saturday, I would really love to go and see it, hint, hint. I love everything about vampires, including scary vampire movies, and even books. I have told my husband that if I ever met a vampire, he had better watch out….lol. The book series “Twilight” was absolutely wonderful. I read “Twilight” in four days, “New Moon” in 3 days, and “Eclipse” in four days too. I was so upset that I did not have another book to read. Anyway, “Daybreakers” is going to be good, I just know it! The movie trailers give away more of the movie than I am going to, but here goes, the movie takes place in the year 2019, and most of the human population is infected by a virus that causes them to turn into vampires. The vampires start farming the remaining humans for their blood, and the blood supply begins to diminish, as does the unaffected human population. Ethan Hawks’s character discovers a cure for the vampire virus, and he tries to convince them to become human again. The vampires become offended, because they like what they have become. The vampires don’t believe there is anything to cure, and well, I am sure there is going to be a lot of blood shed, guns, and fighting, the battle of the vampires and what little is left of the human population. Anyway, I found yet another movie trailer for it on YouTube and I am posting it here for you to watch. I really can’t wait to see it, and I know that I am not going to be disappointed.

Another Great Scary Movie for Kids!

This movie came out this year, and was actually recommended by my father, who saw it in a movie theater. That really surprised me. He said it is not good for the kids, but it ended up being a movie that they watch over, and over again, and again! I found a trailer on YouTube….yes, YouTube! Enjoy, and go watch it, I loved it.

The Nightmare Before Christmas – Great Christmas Movie!

I saw “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in 1993, at the movie theater with my young son. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. The story is wonderful, and the music is amazing, and how could it not be when it was all done by Danny Elfman. I think maybe it was because it took a different, and scary approach to Christmas, and I love anything scary. Anyway, this is scarygeek’s favorite scary Christmas movie ever. “New Moon”, Much Better Than Twilight!

So, finally got out to see the new movie, “New Moon”……and I have to say that Chris Weitz direction was much better than that of director, Catherine Hardwicke. Many people thought that a man would not be able to capture the true essence of the whole twilight drama, but they were totally wrong about that. I think he added to it by bringing a more masculine side to it by adding a little comedy, and some really good fight scenes and special effects. I read the whole series of “Twilight” books and was very disappointed with the first movie…and script seemed very BLAH, which made the acting by Kristen Stewart even worse than normal. I do have to comment that all of the actors have improved for “New Moon”, maybe it had something with the new direction, and maybe it didn’t. All I can say is that I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in “Eclipse!”

Scary Movies to Watch for In Theaters Soon!

Well, the second in the series of the three “Twilight” movies, “New Moon”, proved to be a hit this weekend bringing in over $140 million dollars in its first weekend and breaking records with the third highest debut ever. As much as I would have loved to watch “New Moon”, there was one movie that I had not seen that I had to see first. “The Fourth Kind”, which came out on November 6th was still showing in my small town and so my husband and I went to see it this afternoon. I was prepared for disappointment but surprisingly I was not disappointed at all. I enjoyed it, however I am not so sure that the supposed video and audio evidence is actual or not. I tried to look up some information about this Dr. Abigail Tyler, but was not able to find anything but other reviews about the movie, which were not so good. I totally believe in UFO’s and abductions so it is not that difficult to make me believe the evidence was real, but for others who are more skeptical…..I am not so sure. I did enjoy the movie though.

I also got a sneak peek at two other scary movies that will be coming out at the begining of the year. I look forward to watching these. The first is “Daybreakers” starring Ethan Hawke which has an arrival date of January 8th, 2010. It’s definitely not like any vampire movie I have seen in the past, and I look forward to seeing it. Another movie trailer that I saw was for a movie starring Benicio del Toro, and Anthony Hopkins (my favorite), called “The Wolfman” is due to be out early February 2010. Looks like a great movie with some really good special effects, and how can it not be great when Anthony Hopkins in it! Here is the trailer I found on YouTube, it looks awesome! Enjoy!

“New Moon” The Next Movie in the “Twilight” Series!

My daughter started reading the “Twilight” series over a year ago. I started reading them at the beginning of this year and couldn’t put them down. Finished the first book within three days, the second in four, and the third in four, and now I am waiting for more. I love them! I was very disappointed by the movie though, which is usually the case. I am looking forward to better acting and a bigger budget with this next movie. I can’t wait to see it. “The Fourth Kind” The Movie Trailer November 6th

The movie “The Fourth Kind” will make its way to the movie theaters on November 6, 2009. I have been waiting for this one and I am hoping that it will not be a disappointment. Starring Mila Jovovich, this movie is based on actual case studies and contains archived footage. I have a good feeling about this one and I hope that I am right, but I will let you know! Paranormal Activity

I finally had the opportunity to go and see “Paranormal Activity” and I have to say that it hit way too close to home for me. Activity has escalated here at the house over the last few days and so I will no longer be posting any further updates until I can figure out what is going on. I want to be sure that it is safe for my family. The fact that I have had most of the experiences contained in this film it was quite disturbing to me. I tried to pay attention to the reactions of the audience and I can say that most of them felt the same. Aside from the irritating nausea I felt from the constant movement of the camera that this is one of the top ten scariest films that I have seen. I don’t want to go in to detail about it. While most skeptical people will not appreciate it and probably walk out of the matinee saying that they were happy they didn’t pay full price, anyone who has had even the smallest paranormal experience will at least appreciate it’s worth, but I don’t advise going alone……

Paranormal Activity Trailer

“Paranormal Activity” opened in only a few select theatres on September 25, 2009. Due to popular demand the movie is now being shown in theatres everywhere. I have yet to see it but I have seen good reviews. The film technique used to create this movie is similar to “The Blair Witch Project” which makes it much more convincing.
