Haunted Places – Pantages Theater

When I was in elementary school I remember we had a field trip to the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, California.  I remember the interior was really quite beautiful, and made me think of a castle, or palace.  The Pantages is located at 6233 Hollywood, Blvd, and yes, it is haunted.  The theater was originally completed in the 1930’s, and was a stage theater.  In 1949, it was purchased by Howard Hughes, and it became part of old RKO Pictures, and it was turned into a movie screen theater.  In 1967, it was purchased by Pacific Theaters, and was then turned back into an all stage theater, and the Broadway Touring Company performed there.  There is a reason for me giving you all of this information before we talk about the hauntings, and I am getting to that…..lol.

Since 1932, there has been a woman spirit that visits when the theater is dark and quiet.  She is believed to be a woman who was a patron, and who also had dreams of becoming a performer, died during one of the performances.  They say her singing can be heard, day or night.  Once, during a performance in 1994, her voice was picked up during a live performance, and they said she was singing along with the performers.

Howard Hughes, supposedly haunts the second floor in and around what used to be his office, and is now a large conference room.  Employees have reported cold spots, and sudden passing of air, like someone walking by.  Twice, there have been reports of a tall male entity, walking around the corner to what used to be his office, and sometimes there is even the scent of a smoke.

Alexander Pantages, was a very gentlemanly man, and his ghost is said to have helped an older employee of the theater, after she fell down in the theater when it was dark, and she could not see.  Apparently, he took her by the arm and escorted her to the door and when she turned the lights on to thank him, there was no one to be found. 

I did not experience any paranormal activity while I was there, but it sure would be fun to go back, and see what I could find now.

Setting A Soul Free

Yesterday, January 5th, was one year since the death of my good friend and coworker, Chris.  He struggled with his depression for well over 25 years, and was finally no longer able to live with it.  In the following months after his death, my friend Silvia, who was dating Chris at the time of his death, experienced some unusual activity in her home.  Chris loved her very much, and even though he could no longer suffer in his own body, he wanted to be with her. He made his presence known to her, and she acknowledged it. 

In July of 2009, I moved my family 1200 miles away, to the city of New Braunfels, Texas.  This is the area that Chris grew up in, and we found out a few weeks after moving here, that he tagged along with us.  The way he lived his life and the way he treated people, made me want to be a better person, and his death made me rethink the way I was living, and taught me some valuable lessons.  He tried very hard to let me know he was here with us, and succeeded by contacting my father, and asking him to tell us that he just wants us to know he is here.  He requested some apple cider and a comic book, which we gladly provided, and we acknowledge him.  He was there to protect us from the darkness that we unknowingly allowed into our home.  We have since removed that negative presence, but Chris’s spirit remained.  We have caught him sitting on our stairs, and wandering in the hallways, always slumped over and appearing quite sad and depressed.  I wanted to do something for him, to allow him to move on and be at peace.  Just because he took his own life, does not mean that he should be made to wander unhappily in our physical world, or to be sentenced to Hell as some would believe. 

I decided that I would try to do something to help him move on.  So, last night during our circle time, with our candle and our sage, I said a few words about him.  I thanked him for being here and helping to protect us, and told him that it was time to go.  It was very difficult for me, as his death was very traumatic for me.  I don’t know if it even worked, but I have to believe that it did.  I hope that he can go now, and be happy…..he was a good friend and he deserves to rest in peace.  We all slept well last night.

Fear of Ghosts

As most of you know, I have had to deal with ghosts for most of my life, and have never really had anyone around to help me to understand them.  I was never taught that I should not to be afraid, and the fact that I loved scary movies even as a young child did not help my situation.  I grew up being scared of ghosts, and even though I knew I should not fear them, somehow I was conditioned that way.   I am trying very hard now, to recondition myself, not only for me but for my children.  I want them to remain open to them, and to embrace the gifts that they have.  I can’t go back and change how I reacted to my past experiences, but I can work toward changing how I react to them now.  Lately, I have found that I can take photos of spirit orbs, just by asking for them to show themselves.  I am very thankful for this gift, and hope to get some really good pictures to post on this site.  I always feel a very positive energy when taking these pictures and it is a really good feeling.  The point I am trying to make is that we should not fear them, not even the negative spirits, because we are in control.  If we remain calm the negative spirits cannot become stronger by feeding off of our fears.  We need to remain in control, and set boundaries and rules for our spiritual friends.  When it is late at night and they want to talk, just tell them, “now is not the time” and ask them to leave, and allow you to rest, and if they are negative energies, let them know that they are not welcome and that they must leave now.  You must be firm, yet loving, and kind.  Trust in your faith that they will follow your directions, and that you are in control.  Having negative or positive energies in your home can be very physically and mentally draining.  I believe that spirits require lots of energy to present themselves, and they draw upon the energies around them, including your own energy, especially when they wake you up at all hours of the night.  I also believe that we will be seeing a lot more spirits, ghosts, and orbs as we get closer to our day of enlightenment (2012).  Paranormal activity of all kinds will become more and more common, and how wonderful that we have the Internet and the ability to share our experiences.

Protective Spirit in My Bedroom

My family and I have gone through some pretty scary experiences over the past several months, and we are now learning how to live with our gift.  We are constantly surrounded by spirits, ghosts, spirit guides, or whatever you want to call them, pretty much all of the time.  I believe they have become more frequent, and we have become stronger, because my daughter and I are very open to them at this time.  My daughter because she is now a teenager, and her energy is strong.  I think they really love to be around her her right now.  As for myself, while I have been on a spiritual journey for most of my life, I am just now starting to understand myself and the gifts that I possess.  As I become more aware of these gifts and those energies around me, I have noticed a few things that I had not before.  I have been aware that I am constantly being watched over, sometimes to the point where I can actually feel them following me, hear their footsteps behind me, and even hear their voices.  It isn’t anything that scares me or makes me feel uncomfortable, it is just a good feeling.  I have seen more and more activity in my upstairs hallway and bedrooms, and over the past week I have been hearing someone walking in the hallway, through my bedroom door, into my bedroom, around my room, and then just stand there on my side of the bed.  I have had this experience three times in the last week, and last night was the most recent.  I was lying in bed when I heard the footsteps. I opened my eyes and followed the sounds from the bedroom door to my side of the bed.  I looked in the direction that I heard it stop, I smiled, said, “good night”, and acknowledged his presence.  I am not sure who this spirit is, but I have a very strong feeling that it is a man.  I did not feel like I had anything to fear from this energy so I closed my eyes and fell asleep.

Ghost, Spirit, Orbs, Spheres! – Joining in on Christmas Activity!

My family and I went out a purchased a Christmas tree last weekend, and since then I have taken a total of 183 pictures of my children and I. I downloaded all of the pictures last night and what I found was interesting. Out of all 183 photos, there were unexplained objects, orbs, in about 25 of those pictures. Some of the pictures were taken one right after the other, if there were dust particles or something else explainable, there would have been more. The ones that they showed up in, were mostly pictures taken with my 13-year-old daughter, who has been having all the trouble with feeling like she is being watched all of the time, seeing shadow figures, and loss of vision in this world. I won’t post all of the pictures, but will post a few so that you can see for yourself. In some of the photos of her there are up to 5 orbs at a time. It’s almost like they are so happy to be around her, especially when she is having a good time, that they decided to join the activities. I am including a succession shots I took, a kids photo by the tree, which I do every year to send to family and friends. Well, there is one that appears in about same spot, but not same, that is trying to get into pictures too…..this is not a dust particle…sorry all you skeptics. I had a thought this morning that I had a miscarriage in 2006, and maybe she is trying to get into photo.  It’s a nice thought anyway.  Also, in only one of the shots, there is a fog like figure, that I can not explain, as it just showed up out of no where, I didn’t see it when I took the picture, but it was there when I downloaded them. Well, take a look, and let me know what you think. They are actually pretty cool.

You can see several orbs in this one, and they are all right behind or near my oldest daughter.

This last photo is only one in bunch with this fog-like, vapor mist, figure….

My children never stop feeling like they are being watched, especially my two oldest….it has been difficult to sleep in our house, at least for me.
