I love getting to be early once in a while, but it seems that lately whenever I do get a chance to do it, I am rudely awakened. Well, last night we had the kids pajamas on, protection spell done, and all in bed by 9pm. I was actually in my bed and talking to my husband by 9:06pm. I was feeling pretty good.
I fell asleep pretty quickly and about 35 minutes after I fell asleep, I woke up to a text from my 13-year-old daughter. The first text I missed, and it just said, “Mommy,” the next one that I woke up to said, “Mommy Help.” So once again I ran down stairs to find my daughter lying in bed and very scared. I asked her what was wrong and she said that there is a face in the television. I looked, but I could not see anything. She refused to look in the direction of the screen, and said that it was the scariest thing she had ever seen. She just described it as a white face with no eyes, but “very scary.” When I touched her she was trembling. I really hate that she is going through this, and I know that she tries to make them go away, and isn’t really afraid. She just does not like it when they are persistent and won’t just leave her alone.
I sat with her for a while so that she could go to sleep, and of course I could hear the footsteps in the attic again. I have heard rodents and know what those sound like, but these are not rodents. They are the sound of the footsteps of a large person.
The other night we went up stairs to get bins from the attic. I had a funny feeling in my gut and my daughter looked towards the back of the attic, and claims she saw a full apparition. She said it was as if it were a real person standing there. I decided we would come back up later when my husband got home, just in case it were a real person. I have heard crazier stories.
Well, that is all that has happened during the last week. I do keep hearing them in the stairway, attic, and in my room, but have not seen what my daughter sees. I only have that feeling that something else is present. I try to speak to them, but no response so far. We will let you know though.
So I was looking at some scary movie lists out there, and I can’t believe how many movies there are that I have never seen! I must have looked through ten lists, just to see if I could find some that I had forgotten about. Anyway, of the movies that I have seen in my lifetime, I will tell you that these movies are by far the best of the scary!
28 Days Later – I thought this movie was pretty scary. I tend to like those movies that are on the verge of being a real possibility. This movie did not have any real big movie stars in it, but the acting was great, and it kept me on the edge of the couch…lol. It was much better than I thought it would be.
Carrie – Was a great scary movie for its time. I remember being pretty scared as a kid watching this one.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre – I didn’t see this movie until about five years ago, and the scary part about it was that there are probably towns just like this somewhere. The bloody guts and gore scenes were really good too.
Saw – This one and all of its following sequels are all good for giving you chills up and down your spine. The whole idea behind this one is the scariest of them all. I think the one of the worst ones was in the second or third one when the girl falls into the syring filled pit. Yuck, I hate the thought of thousands of pins being stuck in me.
Exorcist – This movie is the paranormal scary winner of them all. I loved this movie, and as I said before, I first saw it when I was nine. After that, it was very difficult for movies to scare me. My favorite scene has always been when the demons make her head do a complete 360.
Silence of the Lambs – A ScaryGeek classic. I may be a bit biased as I just love the acting in this one by Anthony Hopkins. He is amazing, and so is this movie.
Pet Sematary – This movie was pretty scary, maybe not the best, but definitely enjoyed it. I had just had kids when I saw it, and when the little boy gets run over in the beginning I cried. Then he comes back and the scene in the hallway when he is dying and says, “no fair” just made me cry again. I know, its supposed to be scary.
Alien – Definitely scary, and very good. Those Aliens are the scariest of all Aliens that have ever been created. Even better than the Predator. This movie had me on edge the whole time.
Hostile - This is a movie I have not heard too much about, but it scared me because I know that there are really places like this, and that is something that makes me sick and scared at the same time. Good movie if you like blood and guts, severed hands, fingers, toes, heads, you name it.
Well, this is just a list of some of my favorites, I will try to get a list of more together and post again. Have fun.
I am not sure why I have this love of scary horror flicks, but I do. I have been watching scary movies since I was a little girl, and I can’t even imagine allowing my little ones to watch the movies I watched at that age….lol. I couldn’t decide which one was scarier than the other so it is a tie. Remember back in the 70’s when all we had was the “Z Channel”…..wow, I remember it was the coolest thing ever. Just a turn of one knob and you had instant movies at your finger tips. Well, I was nine, and it was late. I remember my parents let me stay up later then usual and I was all alone. I turned that knob and I watched “Exorcist” all by myself, in the dark. I remember I started watching it on the floor, and then slowly ended up in the corner of the couch with my feet up….lol. It was that movie that got me hooked. Nothing really scared me much after that. Not the Omen, not anything, until…..”The Trilogy of Terror”….wow, that movie really freaked me out. It had Karen Black in it too, and that little Voodoo doll, or Zuni doll they called it….yikes! I kept looking at those razor sharp teeth and imagined it biting at my feet and legs. I think I was 12 when I finally saw that one. I have been wanting to get the movie and watch it now, but I would probably be disappointed. They should do a remake of that one, now that would be good. The special effects and computer animation that they can do now would make this movie much more realistic. The end was the best, when Karen Black is sitting there with her sharp teeth and her knife, and she is stabbing at the floor. I think she was waiting for her fiance to come home. The Zuni doll was a gift for him. It was great, I haven’t seen that movie in over 20 years, wow do I feel old. Anyway, if you want to watch an old scary movie or two, these are sure winners. I loved them both. Well, have a scary day!
Over the long weekend, my daughter was watching television, it was late at night, and we had all gone to bed. She saw this commercial during one of the breaks, and she said it was scary. I had been waiting for it to air today, and at about 5pm, it did. Now I don’t really care for clowns, they are all pretty creepy to me, and when I was little I was very afraid of those dolls with the white mitten shaped hands. Well, this commercial combines my two fears into one creepy doll, and creative commercial. This family receives a gift, and it is obvious they have a problem. They are all standing outside on the front porch, with the door open, and this scary clown doll, with mitten hands is standing in the living room. Yes, he is scary, and I would send him back too. Anyway, the mailman or postal worker walks up and they ask him about shipping, and he tells them all about how they can ship anything back for one low price, as long as it fits in the box. They all look to him, and turn back and the clown doll is at the door now, and they are all frightened, and agree that there is a problem….lol. It’s too cute, even though it is kinda creepy. Okay, so this qualifies as the creepiest commercial I have seen all year. I found this video clip on YouTube, and thought I would share it with you, and see what you thought. Maybe its just me, but this clown is creepy!
Yes, today is my birthday, but not just any old birthday, it’s my 40th birthday. Wow, I can’t believe it has been 40 years, time goes by so very quickly. I have been thinking about how much everything has changed in 40 years, and it is amazing. I am not just referring to technology, but also how we as people are changing both mentally and spiritually. There has been an increase in paranormal activity over the last decade, and I believe that this is going to continue until our time of enlightenment in 2012. There has been an increase in the amount of orb activity as people become more aware of their presence. People are capturing them on video and digital cameras as the spirits try to make themselves known. There has also been an increase in UFO sightings, which is evidenced by the increasing number of reports and videos you can find all over the Internet. I think we are all in for a treat as the we all become more aware of the energies around us, as well as the energies above. I am looking forward to the next few years, as we all become ”enlightened”, well, some of us anyway.
To celebrate my 40th Birthday, I wanted to find a very scary Birthday video to post, but finding a good video is definitely more difficult that it should be. I did find this interesting, and scary music video though, and thought it would be a good one to share. This is the music video I found on YouTube, by Blue – “The Birthday Massacre”….hope it scares you! Happy Birthday to me!!
